Ilham Aliyev met with President of Serbia

AZERBAIJAN, May 17 - On May 17, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić.

Emphasizing the significance of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), Aleksandar Vučić extended his congratulations to the Azerbaijani head of state on Baku’s hosting of the event.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the congratulations.

During the conversation, the official visit of the Azerbaijani President to Serbia this February was fondly recalled, and it was noted that concrete steps have been taken to implement the issues discussed during that trip.

The leaders underlined the importance of heads of state visits, as well as reciprocal visits at various levels, in expanding bilateral cooperation.

The Presidents praised the high level of political relations and highlighted broad opportunities for deepening cooperation in economics, energy, investments, joint projects, and other areas.

The importance of Serbia’s national airline, Air Serbia, operating direct flights on the Belgrade–Baku route was also emphasized as a factor contributing to closer ties between the two peoples and the strengthening of tourism potential.

The sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
